Kate Somrak grew up in the northwest suburbs of Chicago and attended the University of Iowa, graduating with a B.B.A. in Marketing. She moved to Crested Butte during the record setting winter of 2008 to explore the mountain lifestyle and never looked back. 

Kate and her husband Ben are the sought after husband-wife team behind Somrak Concept + Structure, a Crested Butte boutique design-build firm committed to delivering luxury custom homes of exceptional quality. Kate has extensive knowledge of the local market in both designing and building homes in the valley and has a rich history of helping Clients find their perfect properties. Kate specializes in the world of new construction with a vast understanding of building materials, why certain materials are selected and functionally what makes sense for living in our often challenging climate zone 7. This leads her Clients to informed and well educated decisions. As a designer, Kate loves creating spaces that evoke joy and provide a sense of security; homes that nurture families and celebrate the miracle of experiencing Crested Butte as this little slice of heaven on earth.
